THE BAD GUY OF THE ZODIAC Daily Astrology Fri 23rd Oct Sun enters Scorpio. Scorpio is seen as the bad guy of the zodiac. If it wasn't Scorpio, humans would find another sign to project evil onto. For Scorpio, revenge is a dish best served up cold. They are honest about their nastiness, and about emotion generally. They know that if you can't hate, then you can't love. Any collective necessarily has rules about what can and cannot be expressed, and that easily translates into what can and cannot be felt. Scorpio at its best does not subscribe to the collective repressions of feeling. And that, ironically, makes it the devil. It stands for the primeval darkness and occult secrets. It is the witch or wizard to be burnt at the stake. We have rules nowadays just as much as they did in medieval times. We see it, for example, in 'cancel culture', where some innocuous professor is hung out to dry for having the wrong views. For Scorpio, there is, for example, no such thing as being 'born in the wrong body': it has a deep honouring of the natural world, which it feels to be sacred. It is, in this sense, pagan. The next month of Scorpio is an opportunity to be really honest with yourself about these things. Scorpio is beyond good and evil, it doesn't see the world in those terms. Rather it thinks in terms of the balance that it has brought with it from the previous sign of Libra. Every impulse needs to be given credit, and given its place in the pantheon of gods (10 of them in astrology) for which us humans are the vehicle. Without this inner openness and honesty, we cannot be moral. We can only obey the current cultural rules and imagine that makes us virtuous. Scorpio is repulsed by this self-righteousness. Morality, an unfashionable word, is the great transformer, for it is the engine that decides which impulses we will act on, and which we will hold in check. And to do that, you need the Scorpio ruthless honesty about yourself. An honesty that does not condemn, but notes with interest. And through that, you will come to own your own soul.
