Why are we living through so much moral confusion? Because people are starving for meaning. They want to feel important. They want to feel righteous. They want to feel like they are part of something bigger than themselves. So instead of building a life of courage, responsibility, service, honesty, and character, they grab onto increasingly strange moral frameworks that give them an instant identity. Now they can feel like a good person without actually becoming one. They can repeat the right language. Join the right side. Condemn the right people. Defend the right causes. And suddenly they feel morally significant. That is the danger. When morality becomes a source of status instead of a commitment to truth, responsibility, and human flourishing, people can justify almost anything while still feeling righteous. Real morality is harder. It asks: Are you honest? Do you take responsibility? Do you protect innocent people? Do you keep your word? Do you contribute? Do you treat people well when nobody is watching? Meaning cannot be borrowed from an ideology. You have to build it through the way you live.
