My Wrestlemania 41 thoughts! The following are all my thoughts that I noted down after watching Wrestlemania 41 Night One and Night Two! There WILL BE SPOILERS for both Wrestlemania and the Raw after Mania in this post, so please skip if you haven't watched yet. Also note, I've noted thoughts after each evening, so there may be amended notes if things turned out differently afterward. My WM Night 1 thoughts: Match 1: HAHAHAHAHAHA SCREW YOU IWC. But on a serious note, great opener, great story, Jey still needs a better spear, and (hot take), I actually love the finish. Perfect revenge for Jey. Match 2: It existed. Neither team performed badly, but it was by the numbers, very very average and boring match. Kofi's eyes when he was grabbing the titles got a big chuckle out of me. Match 3: loved Naomi's look and entrance. Honestly a better match than expected. Happy for Jade to have won. I suspect this match will be a factor in the triple threat Women's Title match for Night Two~(Edit, welp, guess not!) Match 4: Good match between these two. The Super BFT was sick. Great that Jacob got the W clean. I reckon LA Knight will briefly pop up again on the main event scene from here, depending on how a certain match plays out. Match 5: Rey Fenix deserved better imo. The match was alright, but haaaated the finish. Considering the recent aquisition news, I reckon the El Grande Americano gimmick will last a decent while, and honestly? It was fun at first, but I'm already over it. Can only hope Fenix can do better things from here. Match 6: I PRAYED FOR IT, AND IT HAPPENED. Loved Tiffy's entrance honestly. Honestly surprised that Charlotte did the job here, but I respect it. Tiffy's unfortunate incident has admitedly made her even more bad-ass here. Great stuff. Match 7 (main event): Great great great great main event. CM Punk's entrance was amazing. Good action from all three. But as suspected, the story was alllll Heyman, and he played the part beautifully. And with what's happened, I feel that this is only part of one bigger story here, I'll see if I'm correct by the end of tomorrow! (Edit, hahahahahahahaha) WM41 Night Two thoughts: Match 1: Fantastic opening match. All three women worked very hard, and extremely pleasantly surprised that Iyo retained! Honestly not much to complain about, you could argue match of the show honestly! Match 2: Very gruesome street fight. The right person won. The claymore to the corner was B R U T A L. This is definitely a good way a hardcore match should be booked. Shame they didn't wear street clothes though! Match 3: The streak of great matches continues! Probably the best fatal-four-way match at Mania you'll ever see imo. Penta kept things engaged, Bron still had some wicked spears, and MY BOY DOM WON! Fantastic moment for him, and the way the crowd are going, not surprising if he turns face soon. Match 4: SAY HIS NAME AND HE APPEARS! I disagree with the notion some say with TNA being buried by this. TNA had their world champion appear at Mania with little notice, and while I would have wanted a liiiiiittle bit more of match, it was alright for what it was. Here's hoping more goes Hendry's way, good luck in next week's title match! Match 5: What goes up, must come down. Not much point in me talking much about Logal Paul the person, as I'm sure we're in agreement there in what kind of person he is. But in terms of match quality, this wasn't it. Paul (and AJ for that matter) had much better matches, and this one fell flat. Karrion Kross also doesn't do much for me still, sorry. (Edit: Unless?.....His worked shoot promo and Raw segment leaves me a *tiny* bit intrigued) Match 6: Bayley got robbed. Happy to see Becky, and good for Lyra being a double champ and Becky getting another tag gold, but at what cost? The match was alright for what it was, but I still feel sorry for Bayley not having that moment. Will that spur her to go after the IC belt that Lyra holds? Will Judgement Day implode now that Dom is the only one that has gold? Only time will tell there...(Edit: BAHAHAHA never mind, the belts hot-potatoed and Becky is a heel now. Strange choice if you ask me) Before the Main Event: I think this will be the last time the Austin ATV will get used here, big ooof on the collision. I hope everyone involved is okay! Match 7 (Main Event): Alright, so I've had time to sleep on this a bit. I reserve the right to adjust this opinion a little later on, depending on what happens next, but I will say, this is the worst WM Main Event we've had in a little while. It is almost WM 34 Main Event bad, and I'm being serious. The first 10 or so minutes was.....fine? It was cute when Cena did the slowest five moves of doom ever. And yes, Cena's finisher is just as weak as Cody's. Then comes.......the finish.......Whatever you think of Travis Scott (and everything said already is 100% valid, me personally I don't care much for the guy), WHY did he have such a looooooooooong interference??? It's like Triple H said "We now pause this main event for this entrance lolol". Then, after that is finally over, we have....what?.....A ref pullout, a small staredown, a CrossRhodes to Scott, a tug-of-war reminiscent of the Lesnar/Reigns tug-of-war at Raw before Mania 31, and then Cody becomes the dumbest baby-face ever, allows the dick-kick-city, and a belt shot and...............that's it? That's the finish? Really? That's how you end a title reign like Cody's? That's how this match was booked? Look, I know many people don't like too much interference in matches, but this was all wrong for me. Where was the Rock in all of this? Heck, even if he couldn't be there, why not having Paul Heyman and Seth come out and help with the interference? (That was the grand idea I had, them also aligning with Cena to really cement the loss of the title). John Cena wants to ruin wrestling? He may have just done that, but not in the way he thought. I never felt that strongly about a main event since 34, hence the comparision. Awful. Overall show grade: C minus, I think. May adjust. I just feel kinda meh going out of this, and it's a shame.
