😃😃😃💜💜💜 @wyvernsrose.bsky.social My Grandma used to say "Self-brag is half-scandal" I texted this to my sister (who is a bilingual phone CSR) but I just crave more pats in the back 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Hi 💜💜💜 I did my Girl Scout good cookie deed for the MONTH and I want to tell someone about it and get a pat on the back. I had fasting labs this morning in Ft Smith (hour drive) I left at 9am. The lab has an unattended foyer and a kiosk to check in. When I got there there was a little old man looking helpless...so I tried to help him check in at the kiosk. He spoke Spanish and couldn't read or write. It turned out he had a bill from the lab, a financial aid form in Spanish and a Medicaid card. So I sat down with him and in my very limited Spanish, I filled out the form with him. Some of the questions I didn't even understand but when I read them to him, he could answer. When it asked for his phone number, he told me in English and I told him that he did very good After the form was filled out, I helped him register at the kiosk. He was in the wrong place and not needing a test so a lab worker came out of the locked door to see what he needed. She didn't speak Spanish so I told her what was going on. She had to go to the back and ask her manager. Then she came out and told him (in English) that she would "send it in" and if he got another letter, he could come back. While I was trying to figure out how to tell him that in Spanish. She repeated herself to him really slow and loud (which he of course still couldn't understand) but she gave him the thunbs up sign and he understood that. By then I could tell him if he got another letter bring it back. Then I had my labs, ate my breakfast in the car and took most my meds. I ran out of water and have to drive thru somewhere for a Dr Pepper. I just got finished and texted you...so I spent a while with him. I did good, right? Texted at 12:10pm
