The fastest way to lose your flow is to believe you’re supposed to feel amazing all the time. You walk into a room and notice you’re a little nervous. Then the thoughts start: Why am I not in a peak state? What’s wrong with me? Why isn’t this effortless? Now you’re checking every word, every joke, every reaction. The pressure to feel amazing pulls you out of the conversation entirely. That’s the trap. You turn a normal moment of nervousness into a test of who you are. A peak state is powerful. Practice gratitude. Visualize. Remember what makes you feel grounded and alive. Give yourself time to warm up. But when the feeling isn’t there immediately, you can still connect. Start the conversation. Listen. Speak your mind. Laugh when something’s funny. Let one awkward moment pass without making it mean anything bigger. You don’t need to prove you’re in flow before you talk to someone. Sometimes talking to someone is how you find it.
