Its hard, being "everything your parents hate" during Pride month. We're talking different lifestyles, different attitudes, different cultures, different religions, different attributes, different everything. Its also something we aspire to be in order to have a sense of freedom from the shackles and the values that have tightened around us due to our upbringings. Almost to the point where you're no longer considered "recognizable" by the people you loved, who don't love you the same way anymore. My hope for people who celebrate Pride month is that you don't have to feel this pain.
