We have passion entirely wrong. People spend years searching for their passion, purpose, or mission—as if it’s some hidden external object they must discover before they can finally come alive. No. I am the passion. I am the purpose. I am the energy. I bring passion to spirituality. I bring passion to socializing. I bring passion to business. I bring passion to making money. I bring passion to coaching. I bring passion to life itself. I could become the most passionate salesperson in the world. I could become the most passionate trash collector in the world. It doesn’t matter what the activity is, because the activity isn’t the source of the passion. I am. Passion isn’t something a career gives you. It’s energy you bring to your career. Purpose isn’t something you passively find. It’s something you create through the way you live, serve, grow, and contribute. Stop waiting for the perfect path to make you feel alive. Become so alive that whatever path you choose becomes filled with passion. The passion does not come from what I do. The passion comes from me.
