I’m not trying to let go. Trying to let go means I’m still holding something and attempting to release it. I’m not trying not to care. Trying not to care means I still care about whether I care. I don’t even care about not caring. I’m not trying to stop trying, because that is still another form of effort. Every instruction implies a problem. Every technique implies a destination. Every attempt to become present pulls me away from what is already here. So there is no command left. Not “relax.” Not “flow.” Not “stop thinking.” Not even “let go.” The inner narrator is simply quiet. There is nothing to accomplish and no state to maintain. Life is happening. Words are appearing. I am here. That’s all.
