It's kind of early for the annual reflection yap and kind of late for thanksgiving, but it never hurts to reflect on the year regardless. I'm sorry if it's unstructured in advance, I'm just bad with putting my thoughts into words tbh haha Honestly, it has been quite a rollercoaster of a year and with many many setbacks and many tears shed. I remember looking at the 2025 luck calendar and being ranked at 51th place, so I thought it would turn out to be a great year. It was bollocks and please take these predictions with a huge grain of salt haha It certainly wasn't a good year for my business and quite frankly, i'm not sure for how long I can keep on doing this. Especially with how bad the economy is getting due to the recession etc. Not getting any commissions does hit quite hard, especially when you no longer can rely on a platform like X anymore. But I'd like to try to survive for as long as possible. A lot of unlucky incidents in regards to offline events happened and many things I don't think I can talk about in public. Many times where I was wondering if I even made the right choice participating in certain events, even if they were fun overall. It probably doesn't help that my activity on bluesky hasn't been the greatest as of recently. Partially because my illustration process is very long. Partially because I've been busy taking japanese classes. But also partially because i've invested a lot more time on my side account and I have a good time posting there lately. (サイドアカウントは公開しない, but if any mutuals are interested, feel free to dm me. Probably worth noting that it's an account separate from my content here, so you'll likely not going to miss out on anything unless it's sth I used to post a lot before....) Regardless, i'm super grateful to all the people I have met both offline and online this year and all the opportunities I have been given. Thanks to all the followers who have also stuck with me up until now. Thanks to everyone I got to met through BlueSky as well. This platform feels so much warmer and livelier than before and it has been such a great place to hang out and admire everyone's creation. Hopefully one day, I will also meet many more mutuals and creative people from other platforms here, since I do miss seeing some of their posts. But one can only hope for the best. I hope the next year will bring us more luck and a glimpse of hope into everyone's situation. I'll at least try my best to post high quality art and aim for good opportunities and I hope, you can support me with my goals. Thanks for reading my weekend yap!
