David Piekarczyk Illinois voting citizens and members of this group. I wrote this letter to Governor Pritzker four days ago and have not had a reply. It was about using the National Guard and local police to protect our votes from being seized by the evil empire. I am asking YOU to write a similar email today and email it to his office. He has the power to do that. My email was only one. If everyone of you are tired of this mess we are in, you need to at least do this. You joined to make a difference. Make it and Do it. Use your own words to tell him your concern about the security of your vote. One email doesn't mean much, but a thousand? Tell me you did it. October 24, 2026 Honorable Governor Pritzker. A man who praises dictators is building an international organization around himself, surrounded by wealthy and powerful interests. And we're supposed to believe this is all about peace? Let's say Republicans lose the midterms. Trump becomes a lame duck president facing two years of congressional investigations, hearings, subpoenas, and people finally being forced to answer questions about what this administration has been doing. Does anyone seriously think Trump is going to shake the winner's hands, pack his bags, and quietly disappear into retirement after two more years? Don't tell me the groundwork isn't being laid. Federal agents seized 2020 election records in Georgia. The administration has also demanded election records from other states. My question to you is, what are YOU going to do to stop that from happening in Illinois? Under the U.S. Constitution, state governments hold primary authority over the administration and security of elections (the Elections Clause of Article I, Section 4, and the Tenth Amendment). Federal law enforcement or military personnel generally have no legal authority to seize ballot boxes or interfere with election operations without a valid court order issued by a judge. If federal agents attempt to seize ballot boxes without legal authorization, a state governor has executive, legal, and operational options to prevent or stop the seizure. As Governor of Illinois, you serve as the commander-in-chief of the state's National Guard and oversee state law enforcement (such as State Police). You can direct State Troopers or local law enforcement to secure polling places, election offices, and ballot drop-off locations to physically prevent unauthorized entry. Federal agents are not immune if acting entirely outside their legal authority or violating criminal laws. State law enforcement can detain or arrest individuals, including off-duty or unauthorized federal personnel who commit state crimes like ballot tampering, voter intimidation, or theft. You can order the state National Guard (under State Active Duty status) to protect critical election infrastructure and guard ballot collection points against unauthorized access. You can issue executive orders to block unauthorized personnel from election infrastructure. Governor, you can mandate that only certified local election workers, bipartisan observers, and designated state officers are legally permitted inside designated buffer zones surrounding ballot drop boxes and processing centers. Instruct county clerks and election administrators not to comply with unverified or non-judicial federal demands, ensuring ballots remain strictly in the custody of authorized election staff. Your legal staff surely know that there are federal laws that protect state ballots 18 U.S.C. § 592: Makes it a federal crime for any civil or military federal official to deploy armed troops or federal officers to polling places, unless explicitly repelling an armed foreign enemy. 18 U.S.C. § 594 & § 595: Strictly criminalizes voter intimidation and bans federal officials from using their position or authority to interfere with an election. The Tenth Amendment (Anti-Commandeering Doctrine): The federal government cannot "commandeer" state personnel or force state/local officials to hand over custody of physical election materials without proper federal statutory authority or judicial warrants. Governor, we voted for you last time and this time. We think you are strong enough to keep our votes safe. Don't let down us and the rest of the state voters. David and Joan Piekarczyk
