How do you let go? Stop trying. Stop trying to be charismatic. Stop trying to be impressive. Stop trying to say the perfect thing. Stop trying to control how everyone sees you. Even deliberately “being an idiot” can become another performance—another strategy for getting people to like you. If you’re forcing yourself to be wild, funny or spontaneous, you still haven’t let go. So let that go too. You don’t need a new personality. You don’t need to manufacture confidence. You don’t need to monitor yourself from outside your own body, constantly asking, “Am I doing this correctly?” Drop the entire project. Be silent when you have nothing to say. Speak when something naturally arises. Laugh when something genuinely hits you. Let the interaction breathe without desperately trying to create a moment. Real freedom begins when you no longer need the interaction to prove anything about you. Stop reaching for the flow. Stop trying to perform the flow. Relax so completely that the flow can finally find you.
