We got “delusional” completely wrong. People are terrified of believing in something before reality confirms it. They’re afraid to dream too big. Afraid to sound unreasonable. Afraid to believe they can become someone radically different from who they are today. But every powerful vision begins as something current reality cannot support. If your vision perfectly matches your present circumstances, it isn’t a vision. It’s an observation. Vision requires you to see beyond what already exists. You have to stop treating your current bank account, skills, reputation, relationships, failures, and circumstances as permanent definitions of what is possible. Reality can tell you where you are. It does not get to decide where you’re going. That is the distinction people miss. Don’t ignore factual information. Ignore the conclusion that your present facts are your permanent destiny. Use reality as feedback—not as a prison. The world calls you delusional when your belief becomes larger than the evidence currently available. But if you keep building, learning, adapting, and acting, you can eventually create the evidence that didn’t exist before. You don’t change reality by worshipping it. You change it by imagining something beyond it and working until that vision becomes real. Be unreasonable about the size of your vision. Be ruthlessly honest about your current results. Hold both at the same time. Without vision, reality controls you. Without honesty, vision becomes fantasy. But when enormous belief meets accurate feedback and relentless action, reality begins to move. Stop asking your current circumstances for permission to imagine your future. See beyond reality. Challenge reality. Reshape reality. Create a reality that once looked completely delusional.
