Will be updated with slide show pictures soon for data and facts Okay, so I don't usually post here and try to keep my personal life and professional lives separate. However, what is going on soon is crossing the line. I am interning currently and dealing with elders in facilities. advocating for their rights and dignity. well republicans are calling for massive cuts on senior care for facilities. not even in the benefit for the facilities. this will shut down facilities. I don't care what you're political leaning, we as a society will be judged on what we are going to do to our elders. can you imagine the thousands of elderly that I deal with between these counties becoming homeless. we should not treat our elders this way. its against every moral fiber of our society. House Republicans are expected to vote tonight on their budget resolution that creates a framework to make extreme cuts to Medicaid. Join the national call-in day TODAY. Call 866-426-2631 to be connected to your member of Congress. You can also use this social media toolkit to amplify our message on social media. Please share this information far and wide! Tell Congress to Vote No on the Budget Resolution Today, the House of Representatives is planning a vote on its budget resolution that would require Congress to dramatically cut Medicaid. The resolution directs the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over Medicaid, to cut a minimum of $880 billion in federal spending to pay for tax cuts for wealthy Americans and corporations. The only way to do this is by cutting Medicaid. Now is the time to tell Congress to vote no on the budget resolution. Use this call-in line to reach your member of Congress: 866-426-2631 or fill out this form. These massive cuts threaten coverage for over 7 million seniors and 12 million people with Medicare who rely on Medicaid for their health and long-term care needs. Medicaid is a lifeline for older adults. Without it, they could not afford home-based or nursing facility care and would struggle with Medicare’s high out-of-pocket costs. Whether Medicaid cuts come in the form of red tape such as work requirements and stricter eligibility rules, or caps and cuts to federal funding, the result is the same: any Medicaid cut will take away health and long-term care from older adults, people with disabilities, and their caregivers. Call-in number provided by SEIU and will remain open for the fight ahead!
