Jesus did not come merely to give you an admission ticket to heaven. He taught you how to live now. Jesus said: “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I tell you?” He also said that not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom, but the person who does the will of God. That is the opposite of performative Christianity. Jesus taught you how to walk with God every day. He taught you to love your enemies. He taught you to forgive. He taught you to give without needing recognition. He taught you to pray privately instead of performing spirituality for an audience. He taught you to stop judging others while refusing to confront yourself. He taught you not to serve money. He taught you not to live consumed by anxiety about tomorrow. He taught you to trust God, love your neighbor, care for the vulnerable, and actually put his words into practice. That is a way of life—not merely a belief about the afterlife. “Walking on water” doesn’t mean pretending you can violate physics. It means walking through chaos without allowing fear to pull you under. It means trusting God when you cannot see the path. It means remaining loving, courageous, and faithful while the storm is raging around you. He taught you how to become free from being controlled by fear, wealth, status, hatred, and ego. Jesus did not merely say, “Admire me.” He said, “Follow me.” Live differently. Love radically. Trust completely. Serve courageously. Stop performing religion and start embodying it. If your Christianity only tells you what to believe about Jesus but never teaches you how to live like him, then something essential has been lost. Faith is not supposed to be an insurance policy for after death. Faith is supposed to become a living force inside you now.
