Why am I a grounded leader? Because nothing you say is going to throw me off. Your fear does not frighten me. Your anger does not make me defensive. Your grief does not make me uncomfortable. Your doubt does not make me shut you down. I can sit with whatever emotion you bring because I have sat with my own. I have been through darkness. I have faced pain. I have learned that an emotion does not become dangerous merely because it is intense. You do not need to hide what you feel around me. I will not rush you. I will not shame you. I will not force fake positivity onto you. I will let you process. I will let you speak. I will let you feel what you need to feel. But I will not abandon you inside that emotion either. When you are ready, I will ask questions. I will challenge the story trapping you. I will help you examine the situation from another angle and find a mindset that gives your power back. That is grounded leadership. It is not absorbing someone else’s chaos or matching their fear. It is remaining so steady, present, and loving that they can begin to find steadiness within themselves. My energy does not fight negative energy with more negativity. It overwhelms negativity with love. With calm. With certainty. With faith. With a presence powerful enough to say: “You are allowed to feel this, and you do not have to remain trapped here.” I cannot live another person’s journey for them. But I can stand beside them without flinching. I can remind them of their strength when they have forgotten it. I can help them find the next step when their pain has hidden the path. A grounded leader does not demand that people suppress their emotions. A grounded leader creates enough safety for people to feel—and enough possibility for them to rise.
