(You say it is already illegal, well now they’ll make it doubly illegal) Michael McDermott Aug 29, 2026 In a pathetic, desperate attempt to convince anyone the Trump/Republication administration hasn’t been one of abject failure, if not a dismal economic and security catastrophe, an aptly named representative (Jeff Crank) is again attempting to reimplement their failing playbook. Instead of offering legislation to reverse the inflation they have caused, or a policy to end their useless war, or make healthcare affordable again, or reduce unemployment, or ease the cost of housing, or replace the subsidies that once made Medicare affordable to senior citizens, or protect veteran’s benefits, or see to it families will once again be able to afford to put food on the table or gas in their car, or… or…, or, -- they are now offering only fear in place of policy. Remember immigrants eating your pets, schoolchildren being forced into sex change operations while in school and a dozen other stupidities? Now they have another meaningless fear from which they will protect you. That fear, Socialism, or the dreaded Communism, or Marxism (whatever that is). Not only that, but they will also now initiate a law making it illegal for immigrants to vote! Hell, while they are at it, they should also include a law making bank robbery illegal, murder illegal, armed robbery illegal, etc., etc., etc. That all of the above are already illegal doesn’t matter. In order to intimidate and motivate you to vote they need for you to be afraid not to support them. So, MAGA, Liberal, Conservative, Democrat, or Republican, if their total lack of respect for your intelligence doesn’t bother you… One other thing; Not happy with his subtle form of intimidation, this hayseed in his daddy’s suit is outright lying when he tells us the Democrats want to allow non-citizens to vote: they can’t because it’s already against the law! Jeff Crank, R-Colo., introduced the measure Thursday to “condemn and denounce socialism in all its forms,” specifically naming the Democratic Socialists of America. “Socialism is fundamentally at odds with our values as Americans,” Crank said. “I urge swift consideration of my resolution before the full U.S. House of Representatives, which will show the American people whether their elected officials stand for freedom or for socialism.” The resolution, H.Res. 1490, also reaffirms support for “free, fair, and secure elections,” declares that American elections are for U.S. citizens and calls for passage of the SAVE America Act. According to the resolution, the House would oppose “the implementation of socialist policies in the United States,” recommit itself to upholding the Constitution and call for election safeguards aimed at preventing noncitizens from voting. The measure is scheduled for consideration by the House Rules Committee on Monday, setting up an expected floor vote after Congress reconvenes. It would need a simple majority to pass. The House passed a separate resolution condemning socialism last year, but Crank’s measure specifically singles out the DSA and links the issue to election policy and the SAVE America Act. The vote comes as Republicans seek to make socialism a midterm campaign issue amid gains by DSA-backed and other left-wing candidates in Democratic races around the country. Republicans are expected to emphasize the issue at their Sept. 9-10 midterm convention in Dallas. Crank, a first-term Republican representing Colorado’s 5th Congressional District, has pointed to the DSA’s support for expanding voting rights to noncitizens and incarcerated people as evidence that its agenda extends beyond economic policy.
