Since President Donald Trump assumed office on January 21, 2025, there have been several notable changes among the leadership of the 18 agencies comprising the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC): Director of National Intelligence (DNI): Tulsi Gabbard was nominated by President Trump and confirmed by the Senate as the Director of National Intelligence on February 12, 2025. APNEWS.COM Central Intelligence Agency (CIA): John Ratcliffe was appointed as the Director of the CIA, with his confirmation by the Senate occurring on January 23, 2025. EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI): Kash Patel was appointed as the Director of the FBI, with Dan Bongino serving as the Deputy Director. THETIMES.CO.UK National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC): Joe Kent has been nominated to lead the NCTC and is currently awaiting Senate confirmation. EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG These appointments indicate that, as of March 2, 2025, President Trump has replaced the heads of at least three intelligence agencies (DNI, CIA, and FBI) and has nominated a new leader for a fourth (NCTC) within the U.S. Intelligence Community.
