Think about how we talk about anything "bipartisan" no matter how idiotic it is. But that world is gone. Like there are going to be things that the Nazis do that you probably want or agree with. You know, that whole "make the trains run on time" bit. That is HOW Nazis convince you that they aren't so very bad, by giving some people things they want. They will probably start sending some people (Guess who?) cash soon, and that will seem very pleasant. But don't let it buy you. Everything - EVERY SINGLE THING - that Nazis give you that you want is tainted by Nazi ideology, and it is done for Nazi reasons, not your reasons. And all of it makes things worse for someone, because Nazis enjoy that, and all of it furthers their long term goals. So while you may think having fewer food dyes in your food is probably a good idea, it isn't. Because the reason a Nazi wants to take away your food dyes is because they think certain shallow sops to good health will make up for the plan to kill you and make you go to a labor camp and destroy your health later, and will allow them to blame your ill health on you.. You may think that it is important to keep funding the courts in the hopes that legal challenges will be enforceable, and that makes it worth compromising approving a budget that takes away meals on wheels and WIC for poor people and school lunches, because at least SOME stuff keeps going. But doing so legitimizes their actions as bipartisan, and makes you complicit with Nazism, in ways they will use later. You may think the the antisemitism your kids experienced at college is dangerous and troubling, and less of it would be good, but you can't have crackdowns by Nazis on any kind of protest without it being used to damage your rights to protest, and being a tool of the Nazis, and letting them do monstrous things in your name is bad. Not to mention that it escalates antisemitism. Maybe you hate the way the CIA and various spy agencies have kept secrets that probably didn't need to be kept all these years, and have acted in horrifying, amoral secretive ways and you think that maybe it isn't so bad they are doing all this shit in public. But it definitely is, because the people who know the secrets are the worst people in the world, even worse than the next worst people in the world who were doing the spy shit. The world is a complex and nuanced place, and there is a lot of space for reasonable people to disagree, but not about what Nazis do. Everything they do is bad. You cannot support any of it, because you can't have a little fascism as a treat. A little bit of Nazism is a Nazi society. If you don't want a Nazi society, you oppose them in every conceivable way. All of us grew up in a world of different rules. People are slowly grasping what the rules are. I'm hoping we get there fast, because this is dangerous AF.
