Are you an adult industry worker, facing injustice at your work? Reach out- SOLACE is here, and we are here to help. We are done answering to predatory pimps- they are answering to us. Not an adult-industry worker, but aligned with feminist movements? We need you. SOLACE is expanding, and we’re actively seeking allies willing to donate time, skills, or resources to support worker-led accountability in an industry where protections are routinely denied. We are especially looking for: - Legal professionals, espeically those with (or wanting experience) in criminal or employment law, willing to volunteer on our oversight board as part of our investigations process - Mental health professionals and social workers - General volunteers (logistics, supply runs, float support) - Grant writers and anyone who can help with fundraising support Even one hour a month makes a real difference, and helps us support vulnerable women who have historically been so overlooked in traditional social supports. SOLACE is privately funded by design, and our board takes no salary. Government funding often comes with constraints that would limit our ability to challenge exploitative workplaces directly. Our board is unsalaried, which allows us to fully dedicate our resources to the cause, but operational costs are growing as we expand and take on innovative new approaches to supporting sex workers. We need our community's support to keep making ground-breaking steps in supporting sex workers. As we grow, we realise we cannot do this on our own. Sex workers are everywhere- they are mothers, office workers, PTA volunteers, esteemed church goers, nurses, etc; it is likely someone you know and love is a sex worker. Don't let them fall by the wayside. Your support helps vulnerable women reclaim control over their work, their safety, their money and their bodies- and puts real pressure on systems that have allowed abuse and exploitation to thrive unchecked for hundreds of years.
