Each week, the regime seems to take another step closer to taking America to war against Venezuela. Even as outrage grows over likely war crimes in his potentially illegal boat strikes, Trump has built up our military presence in the region, declared the country’s air space closed and seized an oil tanker off their shores. Now the White House has designated fentanyl a weapon of mass destruction, raising concerns they are laying the groundwork to justify military strikes on Venezuelan soil. For those of us who remember the last time America was rushed into an unnecessary war over WMDs, the echoes are becoming ominous. It’s time to make our voices heard before it’s too late. In the latest act of aggression, the U.S. military seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, and the White House said it’s preparing to seize more,. This comes amidst an illegal bombing campaign that has already killed 87 people over the course of 22 strikes across the Caribbean and Pacific, the grisly details of which reveal gross human rights violations, including extrajudicial killings. The House must reassert its constitutional war powers and keep us from entering another endless war. I urge you to pass H.Con.Res.64, a War Powers Resolution to prevent war with Venezuela. Demand the House backs the proposed War Powers resolutions (H.Con.Res. 61, H.Con.Res. 64, and S.J.Res 90), an end to the boat strikes and no taxpayer dollars are spent on an illegal war. Respectfully, David Piekarczyk Let’s reach out to our members of Congress ASAP to demand they back proposed War Powers resolutions (H.Con.Res. 61, H.Con.Res. 64, and S.J.Res 90), an end to the boat strikes and no taxpayer dollars spent on an illegal war.
