Lmao if you really think it's a political protest, it's just a matter of survival. And no, you can't compare NK to most other people because they are raised with very different values, History rewritten, a constant hate towards the USA, etc etc. From birth. Don't forget almost everything from outside is banned in NK. Their education main goal is to erase all self thinking. Yes, you can say brainwashed. It's very similar to what they do to the russian youth (NK seems worse tho, search for people who visited NK and all the rituals with statues and mandatory guides to show you only what is allowed), not surprising these two work together. Reality of battlefield isn't enough for these people to hope for a rebellion : what do russian soldiers when back to the country ? Never complain about the war itself and consequences, only complains about not being paid or sometimes lack of weapons. These people are doomed for generations (search for russian "summer camps" to have an idea).
