Ohio State blows out Oregon in Rose Bowl The Ohio State Buckeyes have advanced to the College Football Playoff semifinals after routing Oregon 41-21 in the Rose Bowl. Ohio State jumped out to a 34-0 lead in the first half, scoring four explosive touchdowns on drives that totaled just nine plays. Oregon cut its deficit to 34-15 with touchdowns either side of halftime, but was not able to make further headway. Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns, and freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith had a career day with seven catches for 187 yards and two scores. The Buckeyes will face the Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 10 for a spot in the National Championship game.
