People will die not getting to an ER in time, as they will have to go to the next town over, 35-60 minutes away. Ambulance services will shut down or be dramatically underfunded. Nursing homes will shut down from a lack of funding. Surprise, your grandma with Dementia is coming home. Her meds, forget about it. No Medicaid means no prescription coverage. Health centers that supplement hospitals in small towns will be shut down. The legislation would raise the debt ceiling by $5 trillion, going beyond the $4 trillion outlined in the House-passed bill, as Congress faces a deadline to address the debt limit later this summer. $5 trillion automatic increase in our national debt. Any politician claiming that this bill is saving money is lying through their f-cking teeth. They know better, they are just "Following the company line," and while sometimes a necessity for smooth operations, "following the line" can also imply a lack of independent thought or a willingness to compromise one's own values. MAGA Republicans are "scared to death" to oppose an out-of-control, impulsive, angry President who threatens anyone with being primaried when they speak up or speak out, even if their concerns are based on serious moral or ethics violations. The legislation also includes a minimum $100 fee for those seeking asylum, down from the $1,000 fee outlined in the House bill. The Senate parliamentarian ruled out the $1,000 fee for anyone applying for asylum and other fees on diversity immigrant visas. Coming to America, be ready to pay the "dear leader" tax. A revised proposal on a pause on state regulations on artificial intelligence also made it into the Senate bill. The original provision called for a 10-year moratorium, but Republicans reached a compromise over the weekend that says states can only access $500 million in federal funds for AI infrastructure if they don't regulate the technology for five years. The compromise also includes exemptions to protect the safety of children online. A lack of AI regulations equates to a lack of protections against copyright infringement and plagiarism. The tech bros can do whatever they want with your creative works, and you will have no say or avenue to seek damages. AI right now is Napster on crack. The Republican "wet dream" of killing all of the much-needed social net programs is in play, and they will kill people by choice to make it happen. Be a good "Patriot" and vote out every sorry ass SOB that votes to pass this bill. Elections do have consequences. Congress flipping in 2026, the impeachment will pass in the Democrat-controlled both sides of Congress in 2026, and a Democrat in 2028 will take the White House in a blue hurricane landslide that people will never see coming. Pass that bill, MAGA Republicans, and give control of everything away on a silver platter. I honestly can't wait!
