Spirituality is a muscle. Happiness is a muscle. When depression has weakened those muscles, you don’t rebuild them in one heroic day. You rebuild them slowly—one small repetition at a time. One walk. One meaningful conversation. One moment of gratitude. One prayer or meditation. One promise to yourself that you actually keep. At first, these actions may feel heavy. You may not feel the reward immediately. That doesn’t mean they aren’t working. Keep practicing. Keep strengthening your mind, body, and spirit. You do not have to manufacture perfect happiness overnight. You rebuild your capacity for happiness—slowly, patiently, step by step.
