Dear County Council Members McKay, Knapp, Keegan-Ayer, and Donald, Vice-President Duckett, President Young, and Executive Fitzwater, I'm writing you again in light of the upcoming vote on the CDI plan amendments on the 23rd. I'll start with the brief version: please accept the current limits proposed by the FCPC. Of course, as with my last several emails to you, I have more to say than that. It feels like each email I write is on a different angle, a different reason not to expand the zone as Council Member Keegan-Ayer's plan suggests. I imagine now that this is the hinted at 'hybrid plan' by Council President Young, and that the purpose of suggesting the enormous inclusions from the staff recommendations was to make this plan seem measured and responsible by comparison. It still doesn't. This plan still puts data centers next to houses. It still converts massive swaths of agricultural land - land that the residents of the area chose to live amongst secure with the supposed promise of rural legacy and priority preservation areas - into industrialized land. It still represents an unbearable burden on our local natural and power resources, a bill which will no doubt come due as Maryland state Sen. William Folden and Delegates April Miller, Barrie Ciliberti and Jesse Pippy addressed to Council President Young. And before anyone says that the bill is bearable, and that the necessary resources are in place, I will remind you that there has been no study done to show as much. All we have is the word of a company that we have already proven we cannot or will not hold accountable when they break their word.  Please, for the good of Frederick County, sign on to the amendment presented by Council Members McKay and Donald. Better yet, put a moratorium on any data center construction until the impact study can be completed, but as a compromise, choose the McKay-Donald amendments. Please, protect the people and future of Frederick over the empty promise of these data centers and their corporate owners.  Sincerely and With Hope, Derek Tietze Frederick, MD
