Oliver opened and closed his mouth a few times. The offer to fix his mistakes was a great one, his heart soared at the chance for redemption, but his brain politely reminded him of some possible complications. “Of course! I would love to help you put that…thing back where it came from! But well, I can barely swim myself, and unless you can bring those inscriptions up to me, I will be of no use, assuming I have not yet been taken by the sea when you return.” “This will not be a problem.” She grabbed his wrists a little roughly, but thankfully she had enough experience manhandling him by now that she did not snap them. “We have ways to grant such gifts. And as you have wronged me already, and I have spared your life, you are already in my debt. Come here and I shall–” “Now…Now hold on!” Oliver struggled backwards, but with her impressive grip still holding fast (or perhaps with Oliver’s unimpressive attempt to wrest himself free) he merely fell back into the salty water and then struggled to resurface.
