So. This is about to become a super-sized, Mega-Colossal thread. I've told people in the past of my beliefs in the USA's need for a BILL FOR WRONGS. A series of amendments that would change tbe Constitution so it could no longer be manipulated easily. Since the GOP and Dominionists want to dismantle america, we cannot use a Constitutional Convention to fix it... AMENDMENT I — Representation, Elections, and Voting Section 1. Equal Representation The House shall expand as needed so all Representatives serve roughly equal constituencies (±10%). Districts drawn by neutral algorithmic methods. Section 2. Ballot Eligibility No ineligible candidate appears on any ballot. Parties that fail to provide an eligible replacement lose their ballot line. Section 3. Voting Rights All citizens of voting age may vote, including those who are incarcerated or abroad. No fees, fines, or financial obligations may limit the franchise. Automatic voter registration is mandatory. Section 4. Temporary Appointments Interim Senators/Representatives must be of the same party as the departed member and may serve no more than six months. States that fail to hold special elections forfeit the seat. Section 5. Electoral College Reform Electors must reflect the actual votes cast in the state. No legislature may override the popular vote. --- AMENDMENT II — The Executive Branch Section 1. Presidential Ethics The President receives a high fixed salary and may accept no outside income, gifts, businesses, or financial arrangements. Violation = automatic resignation. Section 2. Emoluments Knowingly accepting any emolument constitutes voluntary resignation from office. Section 3. Military Use Against Civilians Ordering or permitting U.S. troops to act against civilians results in automatic resignation for the entire chain of command, up to and including the President. Section 4. Executive Renaming & Property Protection No renaming or destruction of federal property without the consent of the affected public. Unauthorized alteration requires full reconstruction plus a tenfold fine. Section 5. Pardons Presidential pardons are abolished. Commutations remain permitted. --- AMENDMENT III — The Legislative Branch Section 1. Contempt Powers Congress may enforce contempt. Abuse of contempt powers results in removal from office. Any individual who receives three lawful contempt findings is automatically removed from federal office. Section 2. Press and Communication The Executive and Legislative branches may not maintain propaganda-style press offices. Federal announcements must be equally accessible to all accredited media. Section 3. Truth in Government Communications Knowingly inserting falsehoods into official federal communications is treason. --- AMENDMENT IV — The Judiciary Section 1. Supreme Court Structure Congress must enact a structural reform (expansion, term limits, rotation, or one-appointment-per-presidential-term). Any enumerated reform is acceptable — inaction is not. Section 2. Judicial Ethics Justices shall be paid at a level sufficient to ensure independence. No outside income permitted. Any financial benefit or gift received constitutes automatic resignation. Section 3. Habeas Corpus The right of habeas corpus may not be suspended. Section 4. Due Process The term “person” in the Constitution means any human under U.S. jurisdiction. All persons receive due process. Birthright citizenship is inviolate. --- AMENDMENT V — Prevention of Harm (Public Health & Environment) (This is your Preventative Responsibility doctrine) Section 1. Public Health Duty The government must promote preventative health measures (e.g., vaccines, sanitation). Individuals who knowingly endanger others may be temporarily restricted from communal life for the shortest necessary time. Section 2. Environmental Accountability Corporations that cause environmental harm are liable for full remediation and all associated public costs, including healthcare and loss of tax base. Section 3. Successor Liability Corporate liability follows assets and IP. No merger or bankruptcy eliminates responsibility. If a corporation cannot pay, its patents and assets transfer to the federal government until restitution is complete. Section 4. State-to-State Harm States causing environmental damage to downwind or downstream states owe reparations determined by the harmed state (subject only to mathematical review). Section 5. Federal Cleanup Obligation The federal government must promptly remediate contaminated sites and recover costs from responsible entities. --- AMENDMENT VI — Federalism, Money, and National Infrastructure Section 1. Fiscal Equity Rule Within 15 years, no state may contribute more than 125% of what it receives, nor receive more than 125% of what it contributes. Section 2. Adjustment Mechanism Fiscal imbalance shall be corrected by relocating high-prestige federal installations (e.g., bases, NASA centers), not by cutting safety-net programs. Section 3. Territorial Status All U.S. territories shall receive binding statehood referenda. No more indefinite territorial status. Section 4. Environmental Standard Continuity Corporations retain the environmental standards of the state in which they were founded, regardless of relocation. --- AMENDMENT VII — National Memory, Symbols, and Civic Identity Section 1. No Honoring Defeated Enemies Federal property may not honor individuals defeated by the United States in declared wars. Private citizens may build such monuments on private land, but federal endorsement is prohibited. Section 2. Local Authority Over Naming Renaming federal sites requires the consent of the affected local population. Denali stays Denali because Alaskans said so. Section 3. The United States shall be a member of the International Criminal Court.
