Day 1: Round 1: I get a no show. GG go next. 1-0 Round 2: I play against Mono-Green Landfall. Game 1 I play Slickshot on turn 2. I then play a bunch of spells in the next turns and kill him easily. Game 2 he quickly ramps into Nursery and makes a lot of 3/4 Reach, I lose. Game 3 I play creature and keep 1 mana up for my Floodmaw in case he plays a creature and a fight spell. He passes with 2 mana turn 2 and I choose to not Boomerang my Talent in case he has Pawpatch Formation. I do the same in turn 3 and he cycles Pawpatch Formation for a Food (XD). From this point he is too far behind and I quickly kill him. Win 2-1 I am at 2-0 Round 3: I play against Dimir Mid: In game 1 my opponent is stuck on 3 lands and I brick on all my cantrips I think after casting 4 cantrips my hand on turn 5 is 4 lands. I don't have any other choice but to level up Talent and my oppo Tishana me. In game 2 I make a big misstep that cost me the game. My hand is 2 cantrips, 1 Talent, 1 Boomerang, 2 other cards and 1 land. I play cantrip turn 1 to make sure to hit my second land drop. My opponent then goes Duress take Talent and I draw another Boomerang. This sequencing was really bad against Duress and Annul so I should have played Talent on turn 1 since it is one of my better cards in the matchup and it is safe when on the board. It also makes my Boomerang way better in the matchup. I then lose the game because I am way behind in card advantage. Lose 0-2 I am at 2-1 Round 4: I play against Rakdos Looting. I never played the matchup but I talked with a friend about how I think the MU is for Prowess. And little did I know the matchup goes exactly as described. In game 1 I am the beatdown and gain an enormous tempo swing by casting Floodmaw on my opponent class in response to the level up. I kill him shortly after. In game 2 I can't defend against his super aggressive opening and lose. In game 3 we posture a lot and the board stalls a lot but I play a Crab and tap all his creatures to kill him on the next turn. Win 2-1 I am at 3-1 Round 5: I play against Bant Airbending. Game 1 he is on the play and plays Elf. I Burst it and he then plays Cub. He quickly combos after that and I don't have enough clock to win. Game 2 is a slow game where Interdimensional Web Watch makes too much value before I am able to kill my opponent and I lose. Lose 0-2 I am at 3-2 At this point I can't lose anymore or I am out. But it is ok, I am confident in myself and my deck and I had already gone 3-0 to make day 2 before I just have to do it again. Round 6: I play against Izzet Lessons. In game 1 I aggro him relentlessly while maintaining my card flow. I manage to kill him with a protected Slickshot. In game 2 I cut his card flow and use my 3 Stormchaser to get back Pierce and Snare while he is stuck on 4 lands against my 8 lands. I then level up a Talent lvl 3 and resolve a Ral. At some point I have Ral at 10 loyalty, a Lantern, a level 3 Talent and my opponent finally concedes. Win 2-0 I am now at 4-2 Round 7: I play against Mono-White. It is my first time playing against this deck since the week before the RC I only did paper testing and no one brought the deck. But it is ok I was pretty sure that this deck wasn't very good and it was time to find that out. Game 1 I kill his turn 1 Momo and then completely out tempo him with bounce spells while playing Stock Up to maintain my card flow. Game 2 he grinds me with Starfield Shepherd + Nurturing Pixie and it beats my responsive hand. Game 3 my opponent floods a lot and I am stuck with Burst and Sear in hand. I top deck Talent and he plays Get Lost in response to its level 2. Next turn I map on my Otter and top a Roaring Furnace. I then play a Steaming Sauna that goes unchecked and draw a Stock Up quickly winning me the game. Win 2-1 I am now at 5-2 Round 8: I am against Bant Airbending for my win and in. Game 1 is a game where I kill him quickly with a fast beatdown and a 9 power Elusive Otter at the end. Game 2 my opponent starts to do super powerful things and I know I can't stop him anymore and I have to kill him. I have an Otter token and play a Crab end of turn to tap his two blockers. I take my turn and brick on my cantrip putting my opponent to 4. I know that I won't ever be able to attack in the game but you know what deals 4 damage ? Kicked Burst Lightning. So I tap out to level up Talent to get back Stock Up in hope that there is at least 1 copy of Burst in my top 30. I have 8 mana next turn so I can go Stock Up + kicked Burst. My opponent doesn't kill me but I don't find Burst and die the turn after. This game was really frustrating to lose because if I have 1 of my 4 Burst in my top 30-35 I would have won but no time to be sad just focus on game 3. Game 3 my opponent slow rolls his Cubs, I kill 1 of them but he has 2 other Cubs and a lot of mana. He has a Bramble Familiar on the board that he will get back to cast the adventure. But in his upkeep I play a Crab and tap 2 of his earthbended lands. He only gets Cub back and passes. In my turn I cast Stock Up, Bounce his 5 mana Aang, Burst a Cub and play a main phase Crab to tap the 2 remaining blockers to attack for lethal. I win my win and in and make day 2. Win 2-1 I am now at 6-2 Pretty happy with my day 1 aside from my punt against Dimir Mid.
