The best part about being an idiot is that it creates the state you thought you needed beforehand. Most people think: “First I need to feel confident.” “First I need high energy.” “First I need to become spiritually enlightened.” “Then I’ll express myself freely.” It’s backward. Be an idiot first. Be brave enough to say the funny thought. Be willing to look ridiculous. Stop managing your image. Stop calculating everyone’s reaction. Practice fearless self-expression regardless of how you initially feel. Then watch what happens. The moment you stop protecting yourself from judgment, your body relaxes. Your mind becomes quieter. Your energy rises. You become spontaneous, present, playful, and alive. You enter the amazing state through the action. Being an idiot creates confidence because you prove that embarrassment cannot control you. It creates bliss because you are no longer suppressing yourself. It creates presence because you stop living inside everyone else’s imagined opinions. That freedom can feel like spiritual enlightenment. You stop experiencing yourself as a performance that must be perfected. You simply exist, express, laugh, connect, and move with the moment. The sequence is: Be brave enough to be an idiot. Express yourself fearlessly. Become free from judgment. Enter the peak state. Experience the bliss. Don’t wait for enlightenment to give you permission to be free. Choose freedom first—and let the enlightened state follow.
