So... in an inclusive DnD group, we usually have: the Bard, the Barbarian, the Fighter, the Mage, the Sorcerer, the Cleric, the Rogue, the Archer, right? I love Bards. I've been playing DnD since 1979. I've played many other classes over the years and my second favorite is the Rogue. But, tis a Bard for me. I also do storytelling with various accents, olde/young/femme/masc voices, gestures, and sound effects with my voice. So, yeah. This was my character in the last campaign I played in, a halfling bard named Elspeth of Agonarr. I even wrote a song, to the tune of "Foggy Dew", called "The Dawning Moon", about a battle. Oh, and in one of my favorite sessions, I was a player in a regular DnD session. My character was a halfling Bard. To reiterate: my character is 30" tall. About the height of the average table. The 'baddie boss' we were fighting in one recent scenario was a Warforged. For those who don't know what that is, an image is included below. Basically, a sentient sort of robot. I've also included the inspiration image I use for my character. Remember, she's only 30" tall. In the pics below, she'd be barely as tall as his knee. So, this thing is huge. I know my character is short, but she barely reaches the height of his knees. The rest of the party, including our own Warforged, is battling this guy and I've done all the support I can give, including Bardic Inspiration and healing and the like. We've ALMOST got him wiped out, but he's also incapacitated or possibly killed half the party, and all of us are wounded. IIRC, at this point, three of us are left. The first player smacks the Warforged for damage. The second player does more damage, making the Warforged totter but doesn't quite kill him. So, me, powerful less-than-three-foot-tall halfling Bard that I am, rushes in and uses my ONE spell left, my only physical damage spell that I've been saving as a last resort. I jump up at him and hit him in the lower leg, giving him (barely) enough damage to kill him. So... therefore... the enemy Warforge died... ... wait for it ... ... ... by taking a slap to the knee.
