Daily thoughts #4 Time flies when you're having fun, and this format is quite fun. Unless I have to play Landfall, then I want to retire again. ðŸĪŠ Overall format thoughts 💭 - Lessons and UG Cub are the top decks - I expect Lessons to be the most played deck in the Spotlights, but some people I respect disagree with me - Lessons is an amazing deck, and should be heavily respected going in (not sure it will be) - Jeskai is lot better than I thought - Landfall is enigma to me, but will probably be the third most played deck I am currently leaning towards submitting Lessons. I just feel like I am slightly ahead in all the matchups, even though the games are incredibly complicated and close. There might be an argument to playing simpler deck. While I think that might be reasonable in a tournament where I want to optimize for winning, in Lyon I want to optimize for improving before PT. Jeskai might be good choice, if one can fix the Lessons matchup. I played a set with Lukas today, and it felt firmly in Lessons favor. Jeskai feels great into Green decks though, so if you think the metagame will shape out differently than I do, I recommend it. I still haven't gotten around to trying bunch of decks like Reanimator, Airbending, Kona, Artifacts or just brewing on my own. This will likely come after the Spotlight. Allies felt decent, but I decided to focus on different things - could be wrong. Things to figure out tomorrow. 🧠 - See if Jeskai vs Lessons matchup can be fixed - Seam Rip seems like a card that should be good, if anyone can explain to me why people aren't playing it, let me know below please 🙏 - Figure out what's good in Lessons mirrors, is there a merit to playing 0 Stormchaser Talent?
