This is heartbreaking and truly revolting because it suggests that there should be a litmus test for being the "right kind of Jew" in support of Israel. Steadfast refusal to be defined or limited by oppressive expectations is today's call, so we all emerge with unwavering self-respect and determination to rise above adversity. When Corey Booker took the floor of the Senate for 25 hours a few weeks ago, I wrote down several key points. I keep them on my desk for easy reference. I pulled out one specific statement today when I heard of this dismissal. What Corey said resonates in this context, "The power of the people isn't in the people in power; in this democracy, the power of the people is greater than the people in power."
