Click the attached post to learn more! The DNC and Congressional Democrats Can Very Quickly “Do More”! They could (and should) embrace an idea that Robert Hubbell described in his 2/10/2025 column. I’ve just sent the following expansion to my Representative and Senators in Washington. And the idea is important enough for you to also share with your Representatives, Senators, readers and followers. But if you discounted it before, please read on! The party NOT in power creates its own “Shadow Cabinet”-- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadow_cabinet-- whose members are assigned (one-on-one) to track, document and comment on the actions of the ruling party’s leaders and cabinet members. Our Congressional Democrats should do the same! (Though as one Hubbell commentator suggested, an American version could be called a “People’s Cabinet”-- or possibly, a “Patriots” or “Resistance” Cabinet. And the above Snyder article even suggests who could serve specific roles in ours. To implement the idea, the DNC and/or Congressional Democrats would: • Form a closed-door “People’s Cabinet Committee” to run the program. • Assign People’s Cabinet “pairings” with Trump Cabinet members (plus Musk). • Set up a secure People’s Cabinet Press Room. • Issue press passes to legitimate media (especially those banned by Trump), and have Capitol Police enforce press-pass access. • Hold DAILY briefings in the Press Room to help drown out the MAGA Party’s constant attention-seeking. • Appoint a Press Secretary to coordinate these briefings, including who should deliver them based on the prior 24 hours’ events. This would enable the Democratic Party to EVERY DAY: • Give media that the MAGA Party is trying to destroy a TRUTH-BASED-HOME for accurate, strong coverage. This would very quickly help Democrats “punch way above” their (for now) slight minority standing. • Keep the MAGA Party’s Constitutional attacks always before America’s eyes. • Frequently remind voters about “kitchen-table” issues like inflation, cuts to school and medical programs, tax cuts for fat-cats, and greedy raids on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. • Continuously collect "contemporaneous notes" from People’s Cabinet members about MAGA Party attacks on the Constitution, federal agencies, government employees, U.S. residents, courts and the law. (This formal database would also prove invaluable for any future impeachments or 25th-Amendment proceedings.) • “Counter-Flood the Zone” with truths and fact-checks against FOX’s and MAGA’s firehose of lies, exaggerations, misdirections, obfuscations and “projection attacks.” • Continually expose MAGA Party efforts to rig local, state and national elections (and courts) in their favor. And to give Trump an illegal third term. • In near-real-time, call out armed invasions of government agencies (like the one on Thursday, March 6th, as reported by The New York Times). • Remind Americans that their government is supposed to serve THEM, not religious factions, political cults, or the wealthy few. • Reinforce how much greater America really was before Musk-Trump-MAGA, how the country is actually still improving (due to Biden’s past actions), and how America “can REBUILD the greatness that Musk-Trump-MAGA are trying to strip away”… if all Democratic voters get off their couches in future elections. • Warn Americans about things yet to come. • Expose Trump lawyers’ actions, for which they should be brought up for violating Bar Association oaths. • And keep fires stoked under public resistance to administration acts. In addition to shrinking the power gap between the MAGA Party and Democrats, this would be a clear shot across Musk-Trump's bow. It might even make some Republicans and federal employees think twice about rolling over and complying with the current administration’s increasingly lawless actions. I don’t think anything in the Constitution or existing law prevents Congressional Democrats from doing this. It would be relatively quick to implement and would both increase and maintain press coverage EVEN IN CONSERVATIVE MEDIA. What do Democrats have to lose? So again, please ask DNC Chairman Martin and your own representatives in both chambers to do this. Those of you in the media should also ask your followers, viewers and readers to do the same. Let’s crank up the pressure! Act fast, though. At the rate things are unraveling these days, only months may be left to save democracy.
