The Flower Girl (v2) Constricting greens, encircling vines, the plant convenes, as it entwines. it finds her, nestled in leaves. With intent to lure, It swiftly interweaves. she tried to befriend, Flora in her pretend. But when the roses bud and thorns drew blood, The flowers gave her, a face much braver, that surely outlasts- her past, left in the grass. Her mask now left, as the plants now hold, the young woman, bereft. with nature consoled, They return with haste, and bring a special crown. On her head they placed, a tiara of renown. The vines hold tight, as tiara digs in, they hurt, but she won’t fight. As she knows where she's been. The vines grow thorns, and tiara grasp. As the girl mourns, and neglects her past. She continues to cry, knowing she won’t last, and wonders why, she- was miscast. Someday, they’ll find, the girl, left behind. Someday she’ll grow, as the plants she's come to know. Someday she’ll be grown, As the blossom you’ve sown. Someday she’ll be, finally, loved and free.
