FAREWELL ROXANNE VALOIS My first contact with you was in 2022. Back then I was working on a big project near Kingston and was looking for some quality companionship during my travels. I came across the indycompanion website (that was already an eyeopener) and that led me to your own website. When I first read your introduction, all pieces of the puzzle seemed to fall into place. For various reasons we initially failed to meet twice but even then, communication was always open, respectful, and pleasant. 6 months after our first contact we finally managed to make it happen for the first time. The expectations were very high but that first meeting went exactly what I had been dreaming of for all that time. Like having dinner with a friend that you know for a long time. Not a single awkward moment. You brought companionship to the next level for me. We had a few more meetings - how could I ever contact another provider – over the next 4 years. During that period, I followed you on Twitter, X and BlueSky. I supported your goals on your GoFundMe. But I also noticed you were slowly but steadily looking for a way out. Your endeavors in piloting and as a flight instructor. Your aim to go back to university. Your part-time job … they were all clear signs. You started to struggle with the industry. Age became a factor too. We managed to have a last extended meeting a few weeks ago and conquered a mountain, lunched and relaxed at a spa, had fun, and cheered for the Habs in a sports bar in the evening (although it didn’t help that day). It was a beautiful and special day. And although the parting was painful, I was above all very grateful to have been able to experience this a last time with you. Who knows life may surprise us but probably it will be farewell rather than goodbye. Know that I enjoyed every single moment spent with you. We made great core memories together and I have some great pictures to take me back there whenever I want to. I don’t have to worry about you. You will do just fine outside the industry with that a unique combination of your character and your skillset. Any organization will be very lucky to have you in their team. And any guy will be king to have you by his side. I’m sure you’ll be missed by many in and around Montreal. I will miss you too but I know this is what you needed to do and from the bottom of my heart I wish you all the best.
