Dakota (Austen) forms near Nova Scotia. A developing mid latitude cyclone has formed near Nova Scotia. The system will travel toward Rep of Ireland and southern portions of UK as well as Northern portions of France. The system will intensify fairly quickly once near Rep of Ireland and UK. However, the strongest winds may end up over Northern France. However, the uncertainties are purely on where the exact centre will track and when occlusion will take place. Regardless. Heavy rainfall will likely lead to flooding in large areas where rainfall has been severely lacking for a major portion of this year. And damaging gusts are also possible while the low possibly peaks offshore but weakens slightly. However, to repeat regardless of this happening or not. Damaging winds gusts along with coastal flooding and river flooding/flash flooding is possible. As the system moves over likely Southern England the system will weaken rapidly. It should be noted that the wind field will be felt widely across Rep of Ireland and the rest of the UK. Heavy rain fall will also affect these areas as the system pushes over southern England through Thursday into Friday. However highest rain totals will likely be over southern Rep of Ireland, Wales and England. Higher terrain of Scotland and southwest to northeast strip of Scotland may also see elevated rainfall totals. Preparations in Rep of Ireland, Southern UK and Northern France should be underway. Along with interests in these areas of concern also monitoring the progress of this system closely. Please see official weather warnings and advice from main meteorological organisations.
