Despite the last two months of brutal headwinds, Americans have shown remarkable resilience. Rather than succumbing to discouragement, we’ve witnessed a resurgence of democratic spirit and a reinvigoration of the fight for justice and equality. In light of this, it’s hard not to ask: why have we, as citizens, and the organizations that advocate for us, not come together to put more pressure on our representatives to call for a Congressional hearing on Elon Musk? While much of the current political focus has been on former President Trump, especially with his ongoing tariff fiasco, it’s important to recognize that over the past couple of months, it is Musk who has caused more turmoil and inflicted greater damage on our democracy. How much longer will he be allowed to operate unchecked, making decisions that impact millions, all while remaining outside the bounds of official scrutiny? He was never a candidate, never elected by the people, and holds no official governmental standing. Despite this, he has immense influence, and it's clear that the majority of Americans do not support him. So why, then, has he not been brought to a Congressional hearing? Are there no Democratic leaders speaking out against him in a meaningful way? Are we, as citizens, powerless to rein in his actions? The damage he has already caused to our political landscape and social discourse will take years, even decades, to repair. Yet, in the face of all this, there has been no Congressional hearing, no formal inquiry into his conduct. This is the critical question that must be answered. Call your representatives and ask them why they haven't fought for this?
