To Our Fellow Illinoisans: We are living through a moment that will define the future of this nation. A dictator now walks among us, posing as a President. Empowered by a Supreme Court decision that handed him immunity, unshackled from legal consequence, he is testing the limits of authoritarianism in broad daylight. The Constitution has failed to restrain him. The courts have not stopped him. The Republican Party cowers in his shadow, spineless and complicit. His violations of the law, his disregard for our foundational principles, and his open contempt for democratic norms are too numerous to count. The military, sworn to defend the Constitution, remains silent. The media is fragmented. Congress is paralyzed. So I ask you, who will stop him? We, the People. That’s who. And only us. On June 14th, we are expected to sit back and fund, with our own tax dollars, a grotesque spectacle: a militaristic parade straight out of the playbooks of Russia or North Korea, all to glorify a man who would rather see democracy burn than lose power. This cannot be allowed to go unanswered. June 14th is not just a date. It is a call to arms, a nonviolent uprising in the streets. A nationwide display of resistance. A defiant roar from every corner of Illinois that says: We will not go quietly. We will not be silenced. Illinois is not just another state. We are a Democratic stronghold, a cornerstone of the resistance. Alongside California and New York, we form the backbone of the national opposition. Our state government, our cities, our people, we have power. And now, we must use it. We have less than a month to mobilize the largest protest in Illinois history. Chicago may rise with 1 million voices. But this is not just Chicago’s fight. It’s on every town, every city, every citizen in this state to rise up. Can we gather 250,000? 300,000? The only limit is the limit of our imagination and resolve. Flood your streets with flyers. Blast the word across every social media platform. Talk to your friends, your coworkers, your neighbors, your families. Turn every conversation into a call to action. Knock on doors. Reach out to organizers. Alert local media. Call in to radio stations. Make this protest impossible to ignore. If your city or town doesn’t yet have a protest planned for June 14th, start one. Do not wait for someone else to take the lead. You are someone. This is a moment that demands courage, initiative, and action from every single one of us. It is up to ALL of us, not just the organizers, not just the activists, but everyone who believes in the promise of democracy, to resist this authoritarian takeover. But let one thing be absolutely clear: This must be non-violent. We cannot, we must not, give them what they want. Any violence, any destruction, any chaos will only serve the narrative of the oppressors. It will give the dictator and his enablers the excuse they crave to crack down harder, to silence dissent, to accelerate their power grab. Make no mistake: what we are facing is not politics as usual. This is not a debate about policy. This is a confrontation with a domestic enemy, one that threatens the very soul of this nation. Non-violent resistance has always been the most powerful weapon in the arsenal of the people. From Selma to Standing Rock, from Stonewall to the Women’s March, history has shown us: we win by standing strong, standing together, and standing peacefully. So rise up. Organize. Speak out. Be loud. Be visible. But above all, be disciplined, be peaceful, and be unshakably united. We’re not just protesting a man. We’re defending a republic. We are not powerless. But we will be if we do nothing. Let this not be the final gasp of democracy in America. Let it be the moment we stood up, fiercely, united, and unafraid. and said: No more. June 14th. Illinois rises. America resists. Fight back. Before it’s too late.
