Before people can receive coaching, they often have to overcome years of low-vibration beliefs and mental junk. “Coaches are scammers.” “No one genuinely wants to help me.” “They only care about my money.” “People can’t really change.” “Nothing will work for me.” Healthy discernment matters. You should ask questions, examine someone’s work, and never trust blindly. But discernment and automatic distrust are not the same thing. When cynicism becomes your default, it doesn’t only protect you from bad coaches. It can also block you from the person, perspective, or opportunity that could completely transform your life. Some people are so afraid of being deceived that they reject every possibility of being helped. Their defense mechanism becomes another prison. Transformation requires discernment—but it also requires openness. At some point, you have to believe that change is possible, that trustworthy people exist, and that receiving help is not weakness. Sometimes the first block coaching must overcome is the belief that coaching cannot help you.
