“ Jon Stewart was so baffled by Trump’s Reflecting Pool speech that he literally walked off the set of The Daily Show. Stewart played clips of Trump spending more than 20 minutes of his election-eve pitch on the pool’s renovation, including photos of corroded pipes, talk of algae and cracked granite, and the line that it was a massive piece of pool. He pointed out that Trump chose the same spot where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech, then said good night and walked offstage. When he returned, Stewart stressed that the clips were not AI, joking that they did not reflect any kind of intelligence. He dubbed it Trump’s “I Had It Cleaned” speech, with no symbolism or metaphor, just pool maintenance.
