**Another day, another contradiction from the Trump administration.** Yesterday, President Trump claimed that Elon Musk had restored Ukraine’s access to Starlink and Starshield. Today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the speed restrictions remain in place, and Ukraine is still struggling with disruptions that affect its ability to defend against Russian attacks. Ukrainian officials report that the limitations are interfering with drone operations, including efforts to intercept Russian drones threatening Ukrainian cities. And when reporters pressed Trump about the situation, he initially refused to discuss whether he had personally contacted Musk, saying it made no difference who had called. Today, he said he had not spoken to Musk but might do so if the problem persisted. Think about what is at stake here. These satellite systems are not simply another business service; they are critical to Ukraine’s military communications and defense. When access is restricted, the consequences can be measured in lost capabilities and lives put at greater risk. **Why are we getting conflicting statements instead of clear answers?** Who imposed these restrictions, who has the authority to lift them, and why is Ukraine still waiting for a resolution? The American people deserve transparency, especially when decisions involving a private company and our own government can affect the outcome of a war and the safety of civilians. This is about more than Elon Musk or Donald Trump. It is about accountability, American leadership, and whether a country fighting for its survival can depend on the commitments it has been given.
