The low is racing eastward and will landfall over Portugal later tonight. The low will bring damaging wind gusts, river flooding and a threat of coastal flooding. Those in in coastal regions and exposed areas of Portugal you are in an extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation. Please ensure all preparations are and have been completed for this system. Hurricane forced gusts are likely with this system. Should the system have just enough time before landfall a sting jet may form however regardless of this happening or not. Powerful wind gusts are expected, and structural damage, tree damage and power outages are expected. Flooding from heavy rains is also a concern along for northern parts of Portugal and Spain snowfall is expected. Also, for Spain heavy rains is also expected flooding is also of big concern here. Wind gusts will be lower slightly by the time the system enters Spain however rainfall and flooding is the main hazard here. However strong gusty winds are still expected.
