THE NEW MOON IN LIBRA Daily Astrology Sat 10th Oct New Moon in Libra. It is a time for new beginnings in relationships. Ruled by Venus, who is retrograde in Scorpio, exactly square Mars. This is dynamic and catalytic, a rich brew. The scales of Libra are today more like the anode and cathode of an electrical circuit, there is a fizz and a charge. But Libra and Venus aren't truly focussed on romance in the Hollywood sense. That is a modern obsession, and infatuation is perhaps a better term for it. Falling in love, if it consumes you, as it might if you are having a mid-life crisis, is an initiation into your own soul. For Dante, who only saw Beatrice twice, Love took him on a journey through the circles of hell and heaven. So be prepared to be initiated through the Other. If it is a connection that builds, then think in terms of synergy. Think of what you can do for them, rather than what they can do for you. If you want them to make you 'happy', you are on a fool's errand, for happiness is something you need to find for yourself. Remember that Venus is retrograde in Scorpio. Keep it real as you go, or you will receive a sharp reminder. The Other might not be a person. You might be inspired by an image, an idea, the natural world. In whatever way, Venus will want to take you into the depths, the shadow, the parts of the soul you don't usually get to look at, but whose time has come. Persephone was abducted by Hades and forcibly married to him. This was not fluffy, it was an initiation. Persephone transitioned from maiden to wife, from girl to woman. This New Moon can be a gift. But keep your eyes focussed inwards as well as outwards. Be true to your fantasies and that which lies outside the 'rules'. This is a journey of growth and liberation, not of entrapment, unless you choose it.
