To those who say: "we're tired of the system, burn it all down and start over", I'd agree with you on all except one point: when they talk about electricity and Michigan (where I live) and the other states and how 'they deserve what they could get', I would agree except that 1) BARELY slightly over half in Michigan voted for the Orange Shitstain. The rest of us did not. Why is it okay to 'watch the whole thing burn down', the concept they're talking about, for those who didn't supply the firewood? 2) People will die. That's not an exaggeration. That's not hyperbole. That's not "alternative facts". Without available electricity People. Will. Die. Many disabled people's LIVES, including my own, depend on electricity for health reasons. What of those who didn't vote for and don't support the GOP and Trump? Why is it always when someone talks about crashing the system (something I agree with to not a full but a large extent) that it's "okay that people die"? That people will die but they think it's "a sacrifice they're willing to make"? I'm not just talking the dozens to hundreds or more that could die this summer from the heat waves. Yes, it gets almost as bad here as it does in Arizona or Texas and you can thank climate change and the GOP for that. I'm talking about people who will die NOW. Who can't go 24 hours without electricity. I am an avowed leftist. I'm sick and damn tired of the GOP, and I'm also tired of the goddamn caving-in Democrats who 'go along to get along' because they know that with their wealth and power, it's not going to affect THEM. I'm also tired of seeing the points made by those who advocate for or "hope" that the system will crash down upon huge swaths of people in general. When people say that they want those people who voted for the shitstain to suffer, I agree. Wholeheartedly. I experience great levels of schadenfreude at their situation. But not EVERYONE is in that group of people. There are LARGE numbers of people, not just in Michigan, who tried to do better and voted for the Democrats this time. As well as people like me who held their noses and voted for the Democrats because we knew the chaotic fascist free-for-all would be horrific. Many people are advocating for acceptance of potentially thousands of dead individuals and that is not something I can ascribe to. I am not saying they're intentionally advocating for the deaths of people like me. What I'm saying is that what they are advocating for would result in those deaths. I run my mouth. Loudly. Proudly. I am a pagan socialist boomer trans woman who, just today, saw officials in my own government "celebrate" the beginnings of pogroms against my community. I'm referring to the GOP and their "DeTransition Day" bs that took place today. I thoroughly detest the Guardians of Pedophiles party, Donald Dumpf, and Lone Skum. I came up with that anagram and love it. I detest his highly illegal "DoGE" financial brownshirts doing their extended version of a virtual Krystallnacht. Yes, I want that entire structure torn down. I just don't want the deaths of innocent people in marginalized communities being seen as an acceptable reason for it.
