HOW TO BE WELL Daily Astrology Tues 3rd Nov Moon in Virgo squares Uranus in Gemini. Moon in Virgo requires a bit of work, because it isn't just living spontaneously in what it feels, which is what the Moon likes to do. No, it requires that we pay attention in a closer kind of way to the simple things that make us healthy and happy. Virgo points out that our systems are actually very sensitive and attuned, and we won't do so well if we just chuck whatever we feel like in them, and take no exercise. We miss out on the joy that is always to be had simply through taking good care of ourselves. Today you have a fine Virgoan critical faculty for knowing what is good for you emotionally and physically. But renunciative Virgo can also wear a hair shirt, and lacerate itself for being 'bad'. So watch out for the Virgo moralising. You may well be letting yourself down, and you need to acknowledge that without slipping into feeling bad about yourself. It is an important difference: we need to reclaim the ability to judge, which nowadays has a bad name. But done in the way I described above. You always know what is healthy for you if you pay close attention to your body and feelings. So do that today. We often avoid doing so because feelings can be uncomfortable or painful. But as humans we need to learn to bear them: being with them is generally easier than we imagine, and it slowly transforms them. Allow too for Uranus to surprise you. A healthy diet for you may not be what it is for anyone else, or what the books say. Uranus enables you to look and live independently, and to be the awkward meat-eater (if that is what it comes to) amongst your very spiritual vegetarian friends. Uranus enables you to break free of emotional habits. Late at night I have taken to driving my van high up on Dartmoor and spending the night there. I love it when it is stormy. I experience the Virgo love of nature, and it makes me feel well and happy. I am writing this in my van, looking over a mist- filled valley. This is the Virgo joy that alcohol and chocolate could never bring me. Virgo reminds us that the route to emotional well-being is often simple and physical.
