Daily thoughts #21 Just submitted my decklist as I'll be in transit for most of the day tomorrow. Could still change my mind, but I like where we are. Provide a caption (optional) Two maindeck changes. -1 Leyline Weaver -1 Airbender Ascension +1 Formidable Speaker +1 Cavern of Souls Ascension, I basically never wanna draw two off, and the effect is kinda mid. It's a combo piece so I think some copies are needed but I like two. Splitting Weaver / Familiar 3 copies each feels weird, but I don't really wanna draw more than 1 Familiar per game. I have liked having the extra dorks, you're still a Cub deck, you're mana hungry (even though you're sometimes color screwed and dorks don't help with that). I had the Weaver come up and be good often times that I am confident it's good. Going down to 3 is mostly concession to wanting extra sideboard slots. Michael Byrd (top 8 in Richmond with Bant) joined our group and swears by 24 lands so it made sense to move the Cavern from sideboard to maindeck. As for sideboard, we found Bovine Intervention, which seems great. 2/2 gets blanked by our 2/3s and having Torpor Orb removal seems relevant in open decklists. Other than that not much has changed, Oko + Surrak + Wistfulness are our anti control package. I am not sure what grave hate is best, so I'm splitting it. I like the deck, I like our plans. I am extremely excited to play in this Pro Tour. This whole experiment has been a lot of fun, thank you for all the heartwarming responses. ❤️ Big thanks to all my teammates as well! 🙏 It remains to be seen whether I will want to stream my prep for future PTs (if I manage to requalify). It has some bright sides, but I missed hanging out with my friends - those were usually the best times during testing. On the other hand, I enjoyed mindlessly playing much more with twitch chat keeping me company. Anyway, my flight leaves in 4 hours, time to pack and get to the airport. Hopefully, the travel is smooth and I don't end up stuck somewhere. Wish me luck! 🍀
