Mid Latitude Cyclone Centre

Yet another mid latitude cyclone forms over the open Atlantic. The system is expected to interact with an occluded low as it nears Greenland, the low will also undergo a phase of rapid intensification while east of Greenland. The system maybe become an extremely powerful storm system. However the system will weaken rapidly after peak due to the terrain of Greenland. The system is expected to approach the eastern side of Greenland. Though impacts may very well be minimal due to sparse population. However the uncertainty is primarily where the centre of the system is during this approach and wind field size. However interests in southeast and southern Greenland should monitor the progress of this system closely. The system is not expected to make a landfall. But heavy precipitation is likely across eastern Greenland widely. ASCAT pass from earlier revealed winds at surface around the developing centre of circulation ranging from 35-40 kts. Peak gusts are set to 50 mph. INT ... 45 KTS ... 50 MPH
