Greetings fellow travelers and bookworms. Yog here to share a science fiction series that should be added to those TBR lists. The Beast Master by Andre Norton with the later books being co-authored by Lyn McConchie. After an interstellar war against the Xik left Earth devastated a Navajo soldier named Hosteen Storm finds himself on the planet Arzor. With his skills as a beast master, someone who has telepathic connections with a team of genetically altered animals, including an African eagle, a meerkat, and a dune cat, he has to protect his adoptive world from attacks from the Xik, Hostile Norbies, and other predators. The Beast Master is a five-book series, with the first book being published in 1959. I give this series a thumbs up, I dig it quite a bit. It’s still one of my favorites. The first two are great, but the next three are still worth a read. It has been loosely adapted into three movies (the first one being one of my favorite films) and a tv series that I highly enjoyed watching as a youngster. The titles in this series are: The Beast Master Lord of Thunder Beast Master's Ark (with Lyn McConchie) Beast Master's Circus (with Lyn McConchie) Beast Master's Quest (with Lyn McConchie) You can get The Beast Master Lord of Thunder in the omnibus edition titled The Beast Masters’ Planet (the edition I own). There is also an omnibus titled Beast Master Team that includes Beast Master's Ark and Beast Master's Circus
