Greetings fellow travelers and bookworms. Yog here to share a science fiction series that should be added to those TBR lists. The Beast Master by Andre Norton with the later books being co-authored by Lyn McConchie. After an interstellar war against the Xik left Earth devastated a Navajo soldier named Hosteen Storm finds himself on the planet Arzor. With his skills as a beast master, someone who has telepathic connections with a team of genetically altered animals, including an African eagle, a meerkat, and a dune cat, he has to protect his adoptive world from attacks from the Xik, Hostile Norbies, and other predators. The Beast Master is a five-book series, with the first book being published in 1959. I give this series a thumbs up, I dig it quite a bit. It’s still one of my favorites. The first two are great, but the next three are still worth a read. It has been loosely adapted into three movies (the first one being one of my favorite films) and a tv series that I highly enjoyed watching as a youngster.
