NEW LEAVES ON OLD TREES Daily Astrology Wed 28th Oct The sky has been very busy for a few days, and I thought today we'd stand back and consider Saturn, who is more slow moving. He is going through Aries, which he finds difficult. Aries energy is dynamic, combative and impulsive; whereas Saturn likes to build and to proceed steadily and thoughtfully. Saturn is a foundational undercurrent to the faster moving personal planets. He is the push to show up on the planet and to achieve. The task in these few years of Saturn in Aries is to integrate your desire to create something new, to do that which thrills and inspires you, with the steady work required to make it happen. If you are younger, then it can be the Saturn side that is problematic. It can seem boring, and the obstacles insurmountable. If you are older, then you may need to invoke Aries: keep that fresh vision coming. An ancient tree is covered in new leaves each spring. It has more leaves than the younger trees, because of its size. Humans become habitual, and often wind down as they get older. The old tree is saying no, that is the negative side of Saturn. Saturn in Aries is telling us to be ever creative and fruitful and, if anything, to become more so with age. Saturn in Aries working well is like a spaceship heading to the stars. Saturn is the massive superstructure, Aries is the ball of flame powering it onwards and upwards. So don't let yourself off the hook just because you're ageing. If you do, the Aries energy may turn on you. I didn't start writing books until my early sixties, because even though I had plenty to say, I didn't know it sufficiently on my pulses and on my being. And then they came tumbling out, just when I imagined life would be gently downhill from now on. So that's what I mean. There are 4 of them, all by Barry Goddard: The Medicine Wheel; Surfing the Galactic Highways (Astrology); Chaos Shamanism; and The Shapeshifters Trilogy.
