“How can you be a relationship coach if you’re not married?” Because marriage is not a certification. Being married does not automatically make someone wise about relationships. Some people have been married for decades and still communicate poorly, avoid difficult conversations, repeat the same toxic patterns, and make each other miserable. A marriage certificate proves that two people made a commitment. It does not prove that they understand attraction, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, trust, communication, or personal growth. My role is to understand the principles that create healthy relationships and help people apply them. I can study human behavior. I can recognize destructive patterns. I can help people communicate more honestly. I can help couples understand what creates connection, resentment, attraction, distance, trust, and emotional safety. You do not need to be married to understand relationships—just as you do not need to be a billionaire to understand financial principles, or a professional athlete to understand physical training. Experience matters. But so do knowledge, observation, emotional intelligence, honesty, and the ability to help people produce better results. I’m helping couples become more conscious, more honest, more connected, and more capable of creating the relationship they actually want.
